Expat Episodes #8 Adán from Spain
From a chance to escape on Erasmus to passing down Andalusian flamenco,
In case you missed, we released a new episode of our podcast! Meet Adán a passionate musician from Andalusia, Spain, whose love for music flows as naturally as his heritage. In his family, music is more than just a tradition—it’s a beautiful legacy passed down through generations. Now, Adán shares this gift with his students at the International School in Ostrava, sparking a love for music in young minds.
Adán’s move to Ostrava is a story of trust and destiny. Although this city is his new home, it wasn’t his first stop in the Czech Republic. Before settling in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Adán studied in another city in the country, which marked the beginning of his Czech adventure.
Married with two children, he balances his personal and professional life with ease. His musical talents extend beyond the classroom, with his band that brings together expats and locals. The formation of the “Adán Sánchez Band” reflects the unique blend of cultures in Ostrava. You can listen to their songs on Spotify, where they recently dropped their second single, El Pointe.
We have amazing people in our community, and we’re glad to spotlight Adán, whose journey from Spain to Ostrava continues to inspire and enrich us all. Watch the episode to learn more about the talented musician who even wrote a song about our beloved city.
