How to help Ukrainians here or in their homeland?
Here are some events, useful tips and links if you want to help people from Ukraine with their adaptation into life here.
Volunteering
In case you want to offer your help in the form of volunteering in Ostrava, you can contact one of the organizations that are being active in the support of Ukraine. Those are Český červený kříž Ostrava or Adra.
It is also possible to check other websites that were created for quick orientation. Those are for example www.nasiukrajinci.cz or www.stojimezaukrajinou.cz.
Places that Collect goods for Ukrainians
There are several places where you can bring all kinds of things to help Ukrainians. The most well-known one is located on Wattova street 797/17, Ostrava-Přívoz. The place renewed the collecting of goods for Ukrainians and is currently accepting following items
- hygiene supplies – soaps, toothpastes, toothbrushes, etc.
- towels, sheets
- bottled water, juices, etc.
- clothing for men, women and children, shoes for adults
- plastic dishes – bowls, plates
- durable food
You can also bring some things to the Faculty of Social Studies on Českobratrská 16, Ostrava. They collect various goods, however, it is advisable to check the website before you bring anything to the place, if they are still opened, for now the offer still lasts. The opening hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
